Winner of the 2014 Royal Nonesuch Humor Writing Competition from the Mark Twain House
This short story satirizes racism, sexism, and the modern political landscape through the lens of a high school election. While I had been embarrassed by it for the past couple years, the way every writer feels that every thing they write is incredibly cringy and will never be satisfied, I think it’s still a surprisingly apt representation of the beliefs held by my younger self.
